GREAT BOOK ALERT!!
OK, I admit I'm a bit biased, I edited this book, after all. But it really is terrific as the SIX five-star reviews at Amazon attest. The book is BOUND TO THE HIGHLANDER by the terrific Kate Robbins and is the first in her "Highland Chiefs" series set in the 15th century. Full of romance, atmosphere, political strife--with historical accuracy, the author is a research maven and has taken several trips to Scotland to infuse her books with details only one intimately familiar with the setting can. Anyone who admires a compelling, well-researched novel is sure to love this book.

Settling In
After being on the road since the end of November 2012, we've finally settled in for three months in Coffeyville, Kansas. Coffeyville is in the SE corner of the state, just about a mile from the Oklahoma border and only about 75 miles from Tulsa. It's lovely and green here, unlike the desert-like landscape we found in western Kansas and many of our other stops (Apple Valley, California; Indio/Oasis, California; Niland, California; Deming, Clovis, and Taos, New Mexico).
The view from our RV
John is working at the Amazon Fulfillment Center (aka warehouse) here. They pay for our RV space and most utilities. I spend the days reading submissions and editing for my job at Tirgearr Publishing--which I am enjoying very much. I've edited two full-length novels and two novelettes that have already been released. Another, Bound to the Highlander will be released October 10th. Four more are contracted for the upcoming months. Yes, I am busy, but very happily so.
Along for the trip, we've also brought our sweet 11-year-old calico cat, Ciara, and our three Japanese Chin dogs, all rescused from JC CARE, Lili (about 10 years old), Ittybit (just turned four), and Kalani (who was two in July). They are all very good travelers.
I keep wanting to say more than I want to put on Facebook, so thought this would be the best medium to talk about our travels, our work life, fun with the pets, and to work in a few reviews every now and then.
The title of my blog comes from a Kris Kristofferson song/album. Every blog I've had in the past has taken its title from a Kris song so I thought this would be appropriate.
I hope you enjoy this little blog and will visit often.
